What will my first time in your gym be like?
Your first time in, we want you to feel comfortable. One of our awesome coaches will give you a tour of the facilities, we’ll sit down with you and walk through your goals, we’ll do a quick fitness assessment with you, and we’ll walk through what you can expect.
Why is your gym more expensive than other gyms?

We know you may have a lot of choices on where to workout. What’s best… A treadmill at home? The gym down the street that is $15/month? A CrossFit membership?

We’d actually encourage you to ask a different question. What are your goals? Personalized attention? Trained, professional coaches? Accountability? Working out with a group of like-minded people who cheer on your success? If the answer to any of the above is “yes”, then we’d encourage you to check us out.

What exactly is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a fitness program that will change your life. By it’s definition, it uses “constantly varied, functional movement performed at a relative high intensity”. As a truly functional program, the difficulty level of our daily workouts is designed to be increased or decreased, depending upon the individual. This makes them doable by anyone.

Daily workouts could include things such as core conditioning, rowing, sprinting, gymnastics, lifting, etc. And all our workouts are designed to improve overall flexibility, strength, speed, endurance, and agility.

How often do you recommend I come to the gym?
If you’re just starting up, we recommend coming three days/week for your first couple weeks, then build to four, then five. Once you’re up to five days per week, we recommend building in two recovery days per week.
I’m not in very good shape… can I do CrossFit?

The very first thing you will discover is that CrossFit does not discriminate. Whether you are young at heart, or have just completed your 50th marathon, or are recovering from injury or healing a broken heart, whether walking the dog is the only exercise you’ve had in years, or you’re someone training for the Iditarod…We will help you achieve your fitness goals.

One of the things that makes CrossFit so unique is our community of people from literally every walk of life: stay-at-home parents, elite athletes, students, CEOs, members of the armed services, firefighters, you name it. CrossFit bodies – our bodies – come in every imaginable size, shape and age; and yet, our workouts every day are designed for anyone to do them.

What’s your drop-in policy?

We love nothing more than having visitors from other boxes come “throw down” with us!
If you are just passing through, we charge a drop in fee of $ __ per day or offer a week-long punch pass for $ ___.

It’d be great if you’d plan on arriving 15 minutes before scheduled class time so we can provide you with a waiver to sign and introduce you to our box. You can find our class schedule [here].

You may find that we do things a little differently than your “box back home.” We hope that you enjoy the change in scenery, clientele, maybe even music. If anything makes you uncomfortable, however, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

What are classes like?

Do they follow a format? Do they start and end on time? Are they coach led?
All CrossFit boxes are individually owned and operated. Even though the Rx workout is CrossFit, there isn’t a prescription for how classes are taught and therefore the format varies at most facilities. Some gyms will write the warmup on the board and members are to show up whenever and complete the warmup on their own. Others are coached from the time you walk in the door until the time you leave.
At CrossFit C2L in Naperville IL, we lead everything from the warmup to the cool down. Our coaches go through extensive training and are able to correct faults and change programming to match how individuals are moving with what needs to be accomplished. Our goal is to make sure that each athlete who comes thru our door is getting a great experience and is leaving better off than when they walked in, and great coaching is the key.

How are the facilities?

Do you have enough space? How about equipment? Do they require class reservations?
Many gyms require class reservations in order to ensure there is enough space, equipment, and coaches to go around. However, at CrossFit C2L, we believe that our gym is your escape from the real world. We know that schedules change and the unknown happens – and often! For that reason, we do NOT have class reservations – show up for any class time and you are good. Just make sure not to be late, there is a 3 burpee penalty for every minute you are late and nobody likes doing extra burpees!

Is anything besides CrossFit offered?
At CrossFit C2L, we have carefully developed our offerings, and in addition to CrossFit, we offer a strength program, Obstacle Course Race (OCR) coaching, Mobility, Yoga and youth after school programs just to name a few.
How about Open Gym hours?
We know that there are individual athletes who will want to work on skills to improve outside of class time. Here at CrossFit C2L we have Open Gym hours where anyone can come in and work on skills and strength. Individuals who have Unlimited memberships have access to non dedicated Open Gym hours and can work out anytime we are open (though we do ask that this is not done during peak class hours as the facility gets busy).
Does the gym have classes for all levels of fitness?
CrossFit is all about being better today than yesterday. Here at CrossFit C2L we offer classes that appeal to all different fitness levels. Level 1 and 2 classes are scaled for those getting started, while Rx classes are set up for those that have been doing CrossFit for awhile and are more experienced. All Level classes are for everyone and the coaches will help those who need to scale the workout in doing so. You can see our Schedule HERE.
Are the coaches invested in your overall goals?

Not everyone goes to the gym for the same reasons nor do they want the same outcomes. It’s important to make sure that your gym has options and the coaches are invested in you meeting your goals. Do they offer support? Would they stay after class to help you learn or perfect a skill? Do they take time to put on skills clinics?
At CrossFit C2L, each new member is assigned a coach to help them keep track of progress, answer questions, and stay motivated. Although every coach at CrossFit C2L cares about every member, your coach is there for you and will help you be accountable. They will do an FMS screening to determine any weaknesses and can help with skill development.
